The New Writers Tour is a reading series that introduces you to the emerging authors that people will be talking about in the future. Think Junot Díaz in 1996; Jhumpa Lahiri in 1999; Yiyun Li in 2005; Paul Harding in 2009; and Téa Obreat in 2011. A collaboration between the New Writers Project and BookPeople, Austin's largest independent bookstore, this reading series will feature first-time authors reading at the store in the fall and spring. We hope to present the inspiring new writers who some of our students may soon be following.
